SEAMLESS INTEGRATION and Building Automations Management – an effective fire security with addressable I/O modules

Topics in this article:

  • Seamless integration  synchronizes components communication gaps, reduces manual delays, provides unified system response;
  • I/O modules, building automation components and building automations integration;
  • Increasing fire security, alarm response efficiency and operational speed;

Building management systems communicate across multiple platforms, software, and system protocols, connecting through seamless integration or integration with each other.

This seamless integration is what transforms the sum of building automation components – each speaking its own complex ‘language/protocol’ – into a single, synchronized fire security system. The result is a unified network that ensures both automated fire security and efficient evacuation.

Input-output modules ensure seamless integration of components from various building systems – such as HVAC, elevator control, lighting and access control – to the fire alarm system, coordinating the multi-system logic between them. They function as specialized controllers in the building management system, providing an interface for monitoring, controlling and coordinating devices from the various building systems.

This type of resources integration allows the implementation of complex, multi-level fire security procedures that synchronize critical procedures in the building.

This level of synergy allows the building to move to a level of intelligent automation — where an input condition, such as temperature change, detection of smoke or flame, can instantly coordinate a life-saving sequence through HVAC, lighting and access control systems, without human intervention.

System integration allows building automations to respond synchronously and at the exact location of the fire event. This is accomplished through modules’ capability to provide addressability, easy scalability, and seamless system integration by monitoring, activating, and coordinating a wide range of input and output devices and actuators implemented in building automation.

The M9000A IO 1/0 addressable monitor module provides an interface for one-way communication to both comfort and user experience systems, as well as for daily maintenance of the reliability of fire extinguishing system devices such as pressure switches and pressostats. The M9000A IO 3/0 connects both – fire alarm and HVAC – input devices, providing smoke and ventilation control.  Ensures precise monitoring of critical infrastructure by converting analogue signals from thermostats and manual call points into addressable input for early fire detection.

The M9000A IO 0/1 EXT 24V addressable relay output module is designed to control a single 24VDC/2A load capacity relay output, which could integrate a high-voltage fan or HVAC smoke valve or a fire door from the access and control system. For the integration of multiple output devices from building systems, the M9000A IO 0/4 module provides reliable system integration for multiple relay output devices, such as: fire damper, evacuation lighting, fire doors, electric fan.

Modules with a two-way system logic, such as the M9000A IO 1/1 connect devices from two different building systems such as fire alarm, HVAC, elevator systems and access control. The M9000A IO 1/1 250V-5A module high-load capacity allows direct operation with HVAC high-voltage systems components, driving powerful fans and valves.

The M9000A IO 2/2 and M9000A IO 3/5 input-output modules implement dynamic evacuation, integrating the fire security system with the building automations for access control and lighting to visually direct the flow of people, fire detectors with fire valves with smoke exhaust fans, and fire detection systems with elevators and escalators.

Addressable systems integrate systems components to via the ML9000A1 module provides interface to connect 250 input and output devices to the addressable loop and the addressable fire alarm panel FP9000A-2(6). Furthermore, The M9000A ACZ integrates conventional lines to the addressable loop and updating existing installations with innovative technologies.

M9000A IO modules feature of system integration allows the implementation of multi-level system logic that synchronizes all building automations in a reliable fire security. The end result is intelligent evacuation and effective fire extinguishing response, based on precise localization and automated interaction between systems.

The M9000A series addressable I/O modules provide automated optimization of fire security in real time. The multi-level logic of the entire M9000A series allows seamless integration of the fire security system with Energy and Environmental Control System and Safety and Security System, ensuring unified and effective fire security.

New ideas for facilitating the seamless integration of fire security into advanced building automations are engineered in the new and expanded series M9000A addressable input-output modules.
